In early May, we traveled to Santa Fe to visit the Cystic Fibrosis team at Dr. Orlando Alassia Children’s Hospital. There were five of us from Notti, and we arrived with the mindset of those who know there’s always something to learn—even when you’re there in a mentoring role.
From the very first moment, the team’s warmth set the tone. More than ten people were waiting for us, genuinely eager to show us how they work and to listen. That openness—honest and unpretentious—isn’t built in two days. It’s part of their culture. And they have it.
During our visit, we observed their consultations, held workshops using quality improvement tools, and reviewed a SWOT analysis they had prepared themselves before our arrival. That detail speaks volumes: they came to the meeting having honestly reflected on themselves. The conversations flowed naturally, and by the end, there was a concrete plan that the team itself had developed.
And yes, we returned to Mendoza with ideas of our own. A highly committed team can maintain quality care even when the circumstances aren’t always favorable. That’s something that reminds you why we do what we do.
Before saying goodbye, we agreed on the next steps. It wasn’t a wrap-up visit but rather the first chapter. That’s what this network we’re building among centers is all about: not transferring knowledge in one direction, but supporting one another and growing together.
