Cathy Mims, MSHQS, RN, BSN

Cathy Mims, MSHQS, RN, BSN is a registered nurse with over two decades of experience in pediatric cystic fibrosis care, having dedicated her career to improving outcomes for people with CF since 2000. She holds a Master of Science in Healthcare Quality and Safety and brings deep expertise in quality improvement methodology, with hands-on experience through initiatives with the Institute for Healthcare Improvement and the Cystic Fibrosis Learning Network.

Cathy serves as Program Manager for the International Cystic Fibrosis Training Network (ICFTN) and the International Mentor Training Initiative, and as Executive Director of Dream a Little Dream, Inc. — leadership roles that place her at the intersection of clinical excellence, education, and global advocacy. For more than a decade, she has been instrumental in organizing and executing ICFTN training initiatives that reach CF care teams around the world.

Cathy has also played a central role in the development and deployment of the ICFTN Registry, a critical data infrastructure tool designed to advance the quality and reach of global CF care. Her work with the registry reflects her broader commitment to using data and systems-level thinking to drive meaningful, lasting improvements in CF outcomes.

At the core of everything she does is a passion for education and health equity — and an unwavering dedication to narrowing the disparities faced by people with cystic fibrosis worldwide.
