Dr. Abinash Nayak

Dr. Abinash Nayak is the Lead Data Scientist in the Department of Medicine (Information Technology) at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), where he leads research-analytics and platform development, turning clinical, research, and administrative data into analytics platforms and partnering with clinicians and researchers on statistical and machine-learning models.

An applied mathematician by training (Ph.D., UAB), he also collaborates with Dream a Little Dream (DALD), a UAB-founded nonprofit advancing cystic-fibrosis care in low-resource regions, where he has helped create a modern cystic-fibrosis patient registry with advanced features, including the International Cystic Fibrosis Training Network (ICFTN) visualization dashboards and analytics platform.
